About the Role

The Cost Manager will implement, administer and maintain cost‑control systems and procedures to track budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts on medium‑complexity projects. The role provides cost information for decision‑making, evaluates contractor invoices, uses SAP (or similar) data for cost reporting, and delivers forecasts and cash‑flow analysis. In the pre‑contract phase, the Cost Manager develops cost plans and estimates through design milestones, offers commercial input for design optioneering and value‑engineering, reviews contractor and subcontractor pricing, and leads negotiations to secure fair contract prices. During post‑contract execution, the Cost Manager performs quantity surveying, cost controls and change‑management activities, ensures effective cost variance and change‑control processes, manages cost auditing and valuation, produces monthly cost reports for the client, negotiates final accounts promptly, and compiles as‑built cost estimate records for benchmarking. • Implement and maintain cost‑control systems for medium‑complexity projects. • Track budgets, commitments, expenditures and forecasts. • Evaluate contractor invoices before finance system submission. • Extract and validate SAP data for cost reporting and spending verification. • Provide cash‑flow forecasts and financial position updates. • Develop and maintain project schedules and reporting tools. • Generate regular cost reports, including earned‑value analysis. • Support change‑management processes and coordinate project changes. • Build intricate spreadsheets for rapid manipulation of large data sets. • Extract, transform and reconcile data from multiple sources to ensure audit‑trail accuracy. • Create cost plans and estimates during design phases and update at design milestones. • Offer commercial input for design optioneering and value‑engineering. • Review and negotiate contractor/subcontractor pricing to achieve fair contracts. • Conduct quantity surveying and post‑contract cost controls throughout project life‑cycle. • Manage cost variance, change‑control, and cost auditing procedures. • Produce monthly cost reports for client presentation. • Negotiate and finalize project accounts promptly. • Compile as‑built cost estimate records for benchmarking purposes.
