About the Role

In this role you will provide Southern Water with a clear, integrated understanding of organisational risk and resilience by analysing performance, operational, asset, financial, customer and environmental data. You will align modelled and manual inputs to create a consistent risk picture, monitor and report priority risks over time, and highlight areas that exceed the company’s risk appetite for immediate action. Key responsibilities include delivering an integrated, data‑driven view of the company’s risk profile, validating and integrating modelled outputs with manual inputs, monitoring and reporting prioritized risks to stakeholders, and escalating any risks that exceed the risk appetite with evidence‑based mitigation recommendations. • Deliver an integrated, data‑driven view of risk using asset, operational, financial, customer and environmental data. • Validate and integrate modelled outputs with manual inputs to ensure a consistent risk picture. • Monitor, analyse and report prioritized risks, communicating exposure levels and emerging trends to stakeholders. • Identify and escalate risks exceeding risk appetite and provide evidence‑based mitigation recommendations.

What You Bring

The position of Risk Analyst at Southern Water, based in Falmer/Durrington, requires a driving licence for site visits and offers a hybrid working model (two days in the office/site and the remainder from home). It is a permanent contract with a salary up to £35,000 per annum and the closing date for applications is 09/02/2026. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of risk levels and their relationship to performance targets, the ability to identify, assess and appropriately escalate operational risks, experience with an Asset Risk Management System, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases and statistical analysis. Desirable experience includes working in a utilities or asset‑management environment and knowledge of wastewater processes. • Strong understanding of risk levels and their impact on company performance targets. • Ability to identify, assess and appropriately escalate operational risks. • Experience with an Asset Risk Management System. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, databases and statistical analysis. • Desirable: utilities or asset‑management analytical experience and knowledge of wastewater processes.
