About the Role

The engineer will ensure the quality of components purchased from the supply chain, supporting diesel engine manufacturing and development. This includes defining quality requirements, conducting audits, managing PPAP processes, and coordinating qualification testing. • Define and enforce supplier quality requirements, inspection, verification, qualification, and statistical process control methods. • Provide technical guidance to suppliers for part certification compliance with engineering drawings and specifications. • Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and first‑article inspections for production and after‑sales parts. • Develop, prioritize, and execute a regular supplier auditing schedule to ensure ISO‑9001 compliance and quality standards. • Conduct supplier audits focusing on safety, emissions, and control characteristics. • Track failure trends, lead root‑cause analysis, recommend corrective actions, and report high‑priority issues to management. • Ensure only MTU America‑compliant products reach customers through physical sorting, inspection, and systemic controls. • Coordinate qualification testing for engine components, equipment operation, and performance. • Collaborate with the purchasing team on new source development within a commodity‑team environment. • Write, review, and maintain technical quality documents, plans, procedures, and quality assurance programs to meet regulatory requirements. • Manage quality‑hold inventory accuracy and generate quality data reports. • Lead continuous‑improvement projects to maintain or enhance quality capabilities. • Promote a compliance culture and uphold the Rolls‑Royce Integrity Code.

What You Bring

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and hold a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering with at least five years of relevant experience, or nine years of experience without a degree. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of internal combustion engines, statistical process control, CQE/CQA or Six Sigma certification, and strong analytical and communication skills. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or 9 years relevant experience without a degree). • Minimum 5 years experience in quality, industrial or manufacturing engineering. • Knowledge of internal combustion engines, MTU products, geometric tolerancing, and gauge/test equipment. • Experience with statistical process control and zero‑hour engine defect resolution. • CQE/CQA or similar certification; Six Sigma certification preferred. • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills.
