About the Role
As a Design Intern, you will gain real‑world experience on exciting projects, connect with recent graduates and company leaders through mentorship programs, and work under the direct supervision of architects or project managers. You will participate in the architectural design process, develop alternative solutions and presentation graphics, and follow through on design development drawings and models while collaborating with production staff to complete construction documents. • Connect with mentors and company leaders through professional programs. • Work under supervision of architects, project managers, or senior staff. • Develop alternative design solutions and presentation graphics for clients or agency approval. • Produce design development drawings and models, collaborating with production staff for technical details.

What You Bring
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and communication skills, and possess basic Microsoft Office proficiency. A proactive attitude and commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture are essential. Preferred candidates are enrolled in an architecture program, have completed at least two years toward their degree with a 3.0+ GPA, and show knowledge of industry‑related software. Experience with 3D visualization, physical modeling, and BIM software, as well as advanced Microsoft Office skills, is highly valued. • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. • Demonstrate attention to detail, strong problem‑solving, and communication abilities. • Possess basic Microsoft Office skills. • Show commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned and inclusive culture. • Currently enrolled in an architecture program with 2+ years completed and a 3.0+ GPA. • Familiar with software packages relevant to architecture and design. • Experience with 3D visualization and physical modeling technologies preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and BIM software.
