About the Role
You will join Southern Water’s frontline operations team to ensure customers receive a continuous supply of clean water. The job involves safeguarding service quality, resolving customer incidents, protecting water quality across the distribution network, and performing a variety of outdoor tasks in all weather conditions. You will plan shutdowns, carry out inspections, respond to emergencies, and take ownership of incident resolution to keep water flowing and maintain customer satisfaction. • Provide courteous, efficient service to all customers, from domestic households to large industrial sites. • Plan, organise, and execute distribution system shutdowns, minimising disruption and maintaining supply. • Follow procedures to protect water quality during mains repair work. • Act as first point of contact during emergencies, determine appropriate actions and escalate as required. • Conduct inspections and resolve customer‑related incidents directly where possible. • Identify issues that require referral to service partners or internal specialists. • Participate in a 1 in 5 days standby rota. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions. • Learn and operate complex processes with high‑quality controls.
