Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once loads reach legal capacity. Commercial drivers pick up and maneuver containers up to 1,000 lb, while residential drivers collect household waste. Roll-off drivers load and move large open-top or compactor containers, often navigating tight industrial routes. All drivers must follow WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, and complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections. They report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, and attend required training and meetings. Drivers work with managers to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, and ensure each site is left clean after dumps. • Operate vehicles safely in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, or service disruptions to management. • Participate in scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings to stay current on procedures. • Collaborate with Operations Managers to optimize route efficiency and share best practices. • Communicate customer requests and ensure all receptacles are emptied and sites left clean. • Maintain accurate end‑of‑day documentation and complete check‑out procedures. • Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and handling heavy containers.

What You Bring
A valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement and at least one year of commercial driving (or recent military driving) is required; candidates must be 18 or older and legally eligible to work. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. • Hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement and at least one year of commercial driving experience.
