Job Highlights
About the Role
• Prepare detailed civil, structural, and mechanical cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. • Calculate indirect costs such as general conditions, management staff, temporary facilities, equipment, markups, and contingencies. • Analyze drawings, specifications, and site data to assess constructability and cost impacts. • Identify estimating processes that could affect project outcomes. • Support budget development, value‑engineering, and alternative construction options. • Generate quantity takeoffs using standard estimating software. • Develop crew build‑ups and production rate calculations. • Source, evaluate, and balance vendor and subcontractor quotations. • Apply planning and scheduling knowledge to estimates. • Create work breakdown structures for projects. • Lead estimate preparation and conduct review meetings. • Coordinate with project management, engineering, and procurement to ensure estimate accuracy. • Draft Estimate Plans, Basis of Estimate documents, and define estimating approaches. • Compile bid tabulations to meet RFP requirements. • Collect, archive, and analyze project data for historical reference. • Compare current estimates against benchmarks and past performance. • Supervise junior staff, set goals, and document performance.

What You Bring
• BA/BS in engineering or construction (ABET accredited) with at least 8 years of relevant experience. • US citizenship required. • 7–10 years of estimating experience in industrial, heavy civil, or large‑scale commercial construction. • Proven ability to estimate civil, structural, and mechanical scopes. • Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Trimble WinEstimator, ACCE, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Sage, On‑Screen Takeoff). • Experience in manufacturing, energy, mining, oil & gas, or infrastructure sectors. • Strong understanding of construction methods, cost drivers, and labor productivity. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and specifications. • Familiarity with project controls, scheduling, and work breakdown structures. • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
