About the Role

The operator reads and interprets load charts and hand signals to place materials accurately, performs minor maintenance and daily equipment inspections, reports any malfunctions, and prepares and levels surfaces to precise specifications. Collaboration with other craft workers is also required. • Read and interpret load charts. • Interpret hand signals to determine material placement. • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment. • Conduct daily equipment inspections, including fluid checks, refueling, and wear assessment. • Report malfunctioning equipment to supervisors. • Prepare, fine‑tune, and level surfaces to specifications. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm tasks. • Operate cars, trucks, forklifts and various hand‑ and power tools. • Work on uneven, muddy, sandy or rocky surfaces and in adverse weather conditions. • Climb and balance on ladders, scaffolding, and steel/wood frameworks. • Make decisions, focus amid distractions, and attend to detail.

What You Bring

The Dirt and Finish Operator must be a certified equipment operator capable of handling a range of machinery, including a track hoe, rubber‑tire backhoe, front‑end loader, road grader, bulldozer, hoe ram, and Ross carrier. The role requires a thorough understanding of safety hazards and the proper use of work‑related tools and equipment. Work is performed on plant operations or construction job sites. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), repetitive hand and arm use, climbing, and working on uneven or adverse terrain in various weather conditions. The role also requires the ability to drive vehicles and operate power tools, as well as clear communication, decision‑making, and attention to detail. • Communicate clearly (hear, comprehend, speak) and follow written and verbal directions.
