About the Role
Key duties include reading and interpreting blueprints and sketches, preparing reports, and supervising laborers and trade helpers. The carpenter builds and sets forms, uses level instruments, ties rebar, constructs scaffolding, performs finish carpentry, reads tape and rulers, sets screeds, installs batter boards, and operates a variety of hand and power tools. Additional responsibilities involve inspecting areas, conducting repairs or maintenance, and assisting other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints/sketches and complete reports • Instruct laborers and other construction trade helpers • Build and set forms, use level instruments, tie rebar, construct scaffolding, perform finish carpentry, read tape/ruler, set screeds, install batter boards, and operate various hand and power tools • Inspect areas and conduct repairs or maintenance • Assist other craft workers as needed • Apply advanced layout knowledge, Simon forms, anchor‑bolt layout, material takeoff from drawings, and safety requirements for building work

What You Bring
The carpenter position requires an active TWIC and involves designing, constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing wood, plywood, and wallboard structures using pneumatic and electric power tools. The role includes fastening materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives and performing final checks for accuracy. The carpenter must understand advanced layout techniques, Simon forms, anchor‑bolt placement, material takeoff from drawings, and all related safety requirements, and be prepared to work on plant operations or construction job‑sites. The position demands physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb), climbing and balancing on steel or wood frameworks, and working in uneven, muddy, or confined spaces under adverse weather conditions. Strong hand‑eye coordination, the ability to operate electric, gas, and pneumatic tools, and the capacity to perform repetitive motions are required.
