Rigger/Welder
Perform welding and rigging on steel joists in a manufacturing plant.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Perform all tasks safely and watch out for teammates • Fit up and tack various structural assemblies • Add stiffeners, brackets, face plates, etc., according to shop orders • Execute production GMAW welding on plates, bars, channels, and related materials • Set welding machine to ensure uniform bead, proper penetration, and minimal wrap • Use cutting torch as required • Clean welds with chipping hammer or grinder to remove burn‑through and spatter • Operate overhead crane within its rated capacity • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly • Complete additional tasks as directed by supervisor

What You Bring
• Interpret weld symbols and follow welding procedures • High school diploma • Basic math skills for measuring • Ability to read and use a tape measure • CWB GMAW/MIG certification preferred • Prior steel‑industry experience considered an asset
