About the Role
You will support project planning, execution and coordination, designing and optimising digital solutions such as building control, power distribution, energy monitoring, data analytics and management software. Customer engagement, technical troubleshooting, data collection and analysis, as well as clear documentation and reporting are core parts of the role. • Assist in planning, executing and coordinating digital energy projects. • Design, implement and optimise building control and power distribution systems. • Develop energy monitoring, data analytics platforms and management software. • Engage with customers to define sustainability goals and solution requirements. • Provide technical support and troubleshoot digital energy solutions. • Collect, analyse and interpret energy consumption data to identify optimisation opportunities. • Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare reports and presentations. • Participate in on‑the‑job mentorship, performance reviews and wellbeing programmes. • Utilise the SE Career Hub and Learning Portal for continuous professional development.

What You Bring
The Digital Energy Technical Apprentice (Smart Buildings) role is based in the North East & Yorkshire and is a UK Level 4 Higher Apprenticeship with a salary of £21,000. As an apprentice you will work on energy management and controls for smart buildings and electrical infrastructure, contributing to innovative technologies that optimise energy use and support sustainability. Essential attributes include a full UK driving licence, basic IT skills, strong communication, problem‑solving and analytical abilities, and a keen interest in sustainability and energy management. Desirable traits are prior understanding of energy management and data‑analysis skills. The minimum education requirement is five GCSEs (grade 4/C or above) including English, Maths and another STEM subject; no prior experience is required. A full UK driving licence is mandatory, though candidates currently obtaining one will be considered. The role may involve travel, and a company vehicle will be provided where needed. Visa sponsorship is not available for this apprenticeship. • Complete off‑the‑job training (minimum 20% of working time) to achieve apprenticeship competency. • Possess a full UK driving licence (or be in the process of obtaining one). • Demonstrate strong communication, problem‑solving, analytical and teamwork skills.

Training is split between on‑the‑job learning at Schneider Electric and off‑the‑job study with an approved provider, covering at least 20% of weekly hours.
