About the Role
The position supports decarbonization initiatives by developing and maintaining CO₂ roadmaps, modeling the impact of measures, and guiding internal stakeholders. It also manages GHG reporting, compliance monitoring, ensures data validity, oversees external reporting and verification, and monitors CO₂ performance. Responsibilities include managing the sale and purchase of CO₂ credits, tracking market trends, projecting deficits or surpluses, developing trading strategies, and maintaining credit registry accounts. The role conducts climate and environmental policy analysis, engages policymakers, and supports plant Environment staff. The role leads project grant funding strategy and industry engagement by identifying sustainable technologies, supporting sustainability project development and funding applications, managing program reporting, and representing the company on industry committees. The position works within the Northwest Region Cement business, reporting to the Vice President of Cement Operations, and engages with internal stakeholders, plant Environment staff, policymakers, associations, funding agencies, and external forums as part of sustainability, policy, and industry activities. • Develop and maintain CO₂ roadmaps, model decarbonization impacts, and guide internal stakeholders • Oversee GHG reporting, compliance monitoring, data validation, external reporting and verification • Manage buying and selling of CO₂ credits, track markets, develop trading strategies, and administer credit registry accounts • Analyze climate and environmental policies, engage policymakers, and support plant Environment staff • Lead grant funding strategy, identify sustainable technologies, prepare funding applications, and report on program outcomes • Represent Heidelberg Materials on industry committees and external forums • Provide expert advice to internal partners and act as company ambassador

What You Bring
An engineering degree or equivalent with deep knowledge of cement manufacturing processes and environmental compliance is required. Candidates must have strong familiarity with Canadian environmental regulations and global ESG frameworks, experience in public and government relations, and expertise in sustainability‑focused technology. The ability to provide expert advice to internal partners and represent Heidelberg Materials in external forums is essential. • Hold an engineering degree (or equivalent) with deep cement manufacturing and environmental compliance expertise • Strong knowledge of Canadian environmental regulations and global ESG frameworks • Experience in public and government relations and sustainability‑focused technology
