About the Role

Key responsibilities include leading and implementing environmental site assessments (Phase I‑III), remediation strategies, excess‑soil management, spill response, hazardous‑materials surveys and landfill monitoring. The role also entails coordinating technical reports, conceptual site models, remedial options evaluations and action plans, while mentoring junior and intermediate staff. The incumbent will drive business development by executing Dillon’s strategic growth plan, strengthening existing client relationships, identifying new opportunities in the private and public sectors, and responding to Requests for Proposals. Travel to other offices or client sites may be required for relationship building and project delivery. A commitment to continuous learning is expected, including personal professional development, providing technical direction and coaching to junior team members, and active participation in professional associations and committees. • Lead Phase I‑III environmental site assessments and remediation projects in soil, groundwater, surface water and vapor. • Prepare and review excess‑soil assessments, sampling and analysis plans, and destination reports (O.Reg. 406/19). • Manage spill response, hazardous‑materials surveys, landfill monitoring, and contaminated‑site remediation. • Develop conceptual site models, remedial options evaluations and remedial action plans. • Provide technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff. • Drive business development by cultivating existing client relationships and identifying new opportunities in private and public sectors. • Lead proposal development and respond to Requests for Proposals for contaminated‑site work. • Travel as needed to client sites and other Dillon offices for relationship building and project delivery. • Utilize AutoCAD, GIS, Surfer, GINT or similar software for data analysis and reporting.

Dillon’s Contaminant Assessment & Management Discipline is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer or Geoscientist to join its multidisciplinary team. The role offers the chance to apply strong leadership and technical skills to projects that protect the environment, while building client relationships in a fast‑paced, agile setting. Based in Ottawa, the successful candidate will serve as a technical leader, trusted advisor and problem‑solver on Ontario‑based contaminated‑site projects. Flexible work hours and hybrid arrangements support a balance between professional and personal demands. Candidates must be licensed to practice as a professional engineer or geoscientist in Ontario (or eligible to register), hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in an relevant engineering or earth science discipline, and possess a valid driver’s licence. A minimum of ten years’ environmental consulting experience, strong conceptual hydrogeological skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency with tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, Surfer or GINT are required. • Maintain knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, including O.Reg. 153/04 (RSC) and the CCME framework. • Hold a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist licence in Ontario (or eligibility to register) and a relevant bachelor's degree or higher. • Possess at least ten years of environmental consulting experience with strong hydrogeological and geological evaluation skills. • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication, multidisciplinary teamwork and independent work capabilities.
