Key responsibilities include providing visible safety leadership, evaluating team performance against efficiency and reliability metrics, identifying continuous‑improvement opportunities, and ensuring crew effectiveness through proper staffing and barrier removal. The role also involves talent management, recruitment, coaching, and representing the organization in bargaining unit matters, as well as building internal and external relationships to support operations. • Provide visible safety leadership and promote a sustainable safety culture. • Conduct safety meetings, job briefs, audits, training, accident investigations, and site observations. • Evaluate team performance using efficiency, reliability, and quality metrics; implement corrective actions. • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives through collaboration. • Lead crew effectiveness, ensure proper staffing, and remove operational barriers. • Assist in resource forecasting and long‑term work planning. • Recruit, develop, and coach employees; manage performance and engagement. • Represent the organization in bargaining unit discussions, grievances, and corrective actions. • Build and maintain internal and external relationships to support operations. • Oversee compliance with Xcel Energy policies, labor agreements, and regulatory standards.

What You Bring
Xcel Energy is seeking a motivated individual for a Standard Operations Position based in Denver, Colorado. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in utility systems, power generation, or related fields, with an associate’s or technical degree preferred. Required skills include technical expertise, knowledge of regulations, change‑leadership ability, and a proven record of meeting operational metrics. Preferred qualifications are supervisory experience, apprenticeship completion, understanding of utility finance, and experience working with bargaining‑unit employees; rotating shifts and on‑call availability are required. • 5+ years experience in design, construction, operations, engineering or maintenance of utility systems or related fields. • Associate’s or technical degree preferred; apprenticeship completion a plus. • Demonstrated technical expertise and knowledge of standards, procedures, and regulations. • Strong operational knowledge of work and asset management systems and reporting tools. • Effective change leadership and communication skills. • Proven track record meeting performance and operational metrics. • Preferred: 3+ years supervisory experience and understanding of utility finance. • Experience working with bargaining unit employees. • Ability to work rotating shifts and be on call.
