About the Role

The employee will operate a variety of construction equipment to move earth with precision, conduct equipment inspections, and ensure all safety aspects are addressed. Duties include following signaler directions, assessing the work area for hazards, planning equipment operations, and assisting with other site tasks when not operating machinery. • Operate earth‑moving equipment (bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, rollers, graders) for precise excavations. • Inspect equipment before and during use and complete related paperwork. • Follow all safety regulations and signal directions to ensure safe site operations. • Assess work area for hazards and plan equipment movements. • Perform additional site tasks when not operating machinery.

What You Bring

The role requires a minimum of two years’ experience operating dirt equipment in heavy‑industrial construction and the possession of all required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Candidates must meet all physical requirements, have the necessary tools and reliable transportation, and may need a valid driver’s license with a clear motor‑vehicle record. Applicants must be experienced with equipment such as bobcats, bulldozers, excavators, front‑end loaders, backhoes, rollers, and graders, and possess basic mechanical knowledge for inspections. Familiarity with soil types, excavation specifications, and the ability to follow instructions and safety regulations is essential, as is reliability in completing administrative paperwork. Preference is given to current or former Zachry employees and those holding a valid driver’s license. This position does not have any direct reports. The job demands extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, and the ability to work at heights, on ladders, or scaffolding with appropriate fall protection. Employees must work in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE, including a hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirator, hi‑vis vest, gloves, and steel‑toed boots, in a safe, drug‑free, equal‑opportunity environment. • Possess at least 2 years’ experience as a dirt equipment operator in heavy‑industrial construction. • Demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with soil types and excavation specifications. • Maintain reliable transportation, required tools, and a valid driver’s license with a clean motor‑vehicle record (if required). • Stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lb, and work at heights or on ladders. • Work in all weather conditions while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, respirator, hi‑vis vest, gloves, steel‑toed boots).
