About the Role
As the Geotechnical Department Manager you will combine extensive field experience with business acumen to lead a high‑performing team. You will mentor engineers, technicians, and project managers both technically and in client relationship building, while setting high standards for quality and delivery. The role offers ample opportunity for career growth within the company. • Manage full lifecycle of geotechnical engineering projects. • Lead a team of engineers, geologists, project managers, and technicians. • Ensure projects follow best practices, safety standards, and quality control procedures. • Perform technical reviews of proposals, reports, and calculations. • Track department budget, revenue, forecasts, and financial performance. • Set goals and develop staff skills through training initiatives. • Assist senior staff with business development via community involvement and client engagement. • Promote company values, positive culture, and high employee engagement.

What You Bring
• 10+ years of civil/geotechnical engineering experience. • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and relationship‑building abilities. • Deep technical knowledge of geotechnical concepts and applications. • Proven record of managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L responsibilities. • Business development experience with client engagement and winning projects. • BS in Civil or Geological Engineering (ABET accredited); MS preferred. • PE or PG license preferred; ability to obtain licensure within three months if unlicensed.

Benefits
• Salary range $120,000–$160,000, based on location and qualifications.
