About the Role
This role is based in Washington, DC. The Engineering Specifications Consultant provides technical expertise to MEP firms, design/build contractors, and other specifiers, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain relationships and ensure Viega products are included in project and master specifications. The consultant builds long‑term relationships with MEP engineers, architects, general contractors, EPCs, builders and manufacturing accounts to secure product inclusion, executes account strategies, delivers presentations to key stakeholders, collaborates with customers and internal teams, and helps develop and revise specifications. Additional duties include providing technical support to internal sales and marketing teams, driving demand through new customer engagements, traveling up to 70 % of the time, prospecting leads, liaising with code officials and inspectors, maintaining Salesforce and the engineering guide database, and reporting on field activity and market trends. • Build and maintain long‑term relationships with MEP engineers, architects, contractors, EPCs, builders, and manufacturing accounts to secure product inclusion in specifications. • Execute account strategies and develop strategic plans for key accounts to drive revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. • Deliver professional presentations to engineers, architects, developers, facility engineers, plant managers, code officials, educators, and design/build contractors. • Collaborate with external customers, partners, and internal sales and product engineering teams to align solutions with customer requirements. • Partner with cross‑functional teams to revise existing specifications and develop new ones, recommending changes to integrate Viega products. • Provide technical support to internal stakeholders for engineering and product guide specifications. • Initiate new customer engagements, schedule regular visits, and identify opportunities to increase product demand. • Travel up to 70 % of the time to provide in‑person support and respond to leads, prospecting and prioritizing opportunities. • Liaise with local code officials and inspectors to obtain approvals and resolve installation questions. • Maintain and update Salesforce and the engineering guide specification database; report field activity, specification inclusion, competitor insights, forecasts, and industry trends. • Participate in local professional societies (e.g., ASPE, ASHRAE) to promote Viega products.

What You Bring
The role requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial or civil engineering (or equivalent experience), 3‑5 years of industry experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong knowledge of codes, specifications, and CRM tools. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and strategic‑selling skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to perform calculations and deliver persuasive presentations. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and CRM tools. • Detailed knowledge of codes, standards, and specification development within the industry. • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. • Strong organizational, strategic‑selling, and relationship‑building abilities. • Ability to interpret customer product requirements, forecast changes, and develop competitive practices. • Accurate with calculations, unit conversions, percentages, area, and volume. • Skilled at delivering engaging presentations to diverse audiences. • Effective both independently and collaboratively across teams.

Benefits
Base salary ranges from $116,802 to $159,435 annually, with eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, HSA contributions, voluntary life and disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 7.5 % company match, 22 days PTO, holidays and volunteer days.
