This role leads both project delivery and operational excellence across Azure virtual machines, Azure Virtual Desktop, networking, security, automation, backup and recovery, and business continuity/disaster recovery. Serving as a technical authority, the engineer provides Tier 4 troubleshooting and architectural guidance while working across identity platforms, compute, storage, networking, security, cloud‑native services, and hybrid integrations. A strong understanding of enterprise networking, VPN/SASE technologies, Microsoft 365, and client environments is required, with emphasis on scalability, resiliency, security, cost optimization, and automation. • Lead Azure infrastructure initiatives, including Virtual Desktop, IaaS/PaaS workloads, hybrid cloud integrations, and networking architecture. • Design and maintain secure, scalable Azure environments using VNets, subnets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, VPN/ExpressRoute, and DNS. • Develop business continuity and disaster recovery strategies with Azure Backup, Site Recovery, geo‑redundant storage, and multi‑region designs. • Build, configure, and manage Azure virtual machines, images, scaling, and lifecycle automation via ARM/Bicep, Terraform, PowerShell, and Azure CLI. • Administer Azure Virtual Desktop environments, optimizing host pools, session hosts, FSLogix profiles, and application delivery for a superior user experience. • Implement infrastructure‑as‑code and automation, oversee backup/restore testing, and lead migrations from on‑premises to Azure with minimal downtime. • Enforce Azure security best practices, including identity and access management, RBAC, logging, monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance. • Monitor performance and availability using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics; report KPIs on uptime, cost, security, and operational efficiency. • Mentor junior engineers, document standards and procedures, and support internal training and knowledge transfer initiatives.
