About the Role
In this role you will design and review jigs and fixtures using SolidWorks, manage drawing and change order documentation, create item masters and work orders in the TMS system, and manufacture components with manual mills, lathes, and other shop equipment. You will also assemble, test, and install the tools, ensure their quality, train line staff, support safety projects, conduct equipment audits, and maintain inventory and purchase requisitions. • Design new jigs and fixtures in SolidWorks per department requests. • Attach drawings to part numbers in SolidWorks vault and flag engineering change orders. • Conduct design reviews with stakeholders to ensure safety, ergonomics, and machine guarding compliance. • Create item masters, product structures, routes, and work orders in TMS. • Use Tool Room database to manage work orders and preventive maintenance. • Manufacture jig and fixture components using manual mill, lathe, saws, welder, and radial drill. • Measure and verify quality of all projects with precision tools. • Assemble, test, and install jigs and fixtures, correcting any quality issues. • Train line team members on proper use of tooling. • Build, test, and install safety equipment and support shop relocations. • Perform daily machine guarding, SOP, crane, and 5S audits. • Maintain consumables inventory and enter purchase requisitions. • Participate in problem‑solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training in machining, welding, or tooling preferred. Required skills include operation of manual mills and lathes, SolidWorks proficiency, and at least two years of experience creating fixtures. Additional preferred knowledge includes CNC programming, welding certification, pneumatics, hydraulics, and Microsoft Office. • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational technical training preferred. • Ability to operate manual mill and lathe; CNC mill programming preferred. • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software. • Minimum 2 years experience creating fixtures; welding certification optional. • Knowledge of assembly, welding, fabrication, machining, pneumatics, and hydraulics. • Strong communication, attention to detail, and mechanical aptitude. • Basic proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word.
