About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. They handle containers weighing over 1,000 pounds, perform pick‑up services, and navigate high‑traffic roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, requiring highly skilled backing maneuvers for commercial, residential, and roll‑off routes. Key duties include operating vehicles in line with WM safety, OSHA, DOT, and all legal requirements; performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections with DVIR documentation; reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions; and attending required training and meetings. Drivers work closely with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, dump receptacles cleanly, follow route assignments, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Operate WM trucks in compliance with safety, OSHA, DOT, and local regulations. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions promptly to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and best practices. • Communicate customer requests and service issues to Dispatch. • Safely load, transport, and dump waste or recycling containers, leaving sites clean. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling equipment.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are a valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement (or equivalent recent military driving experience), at least one year of relevant driving experience, a minimum age of 18, and legal work authorization. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or recent military driving experience). • Meet the minimum age of 18 and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
