About the Role
• Provide electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post‑occupancy. • Perform specific portions of broader assignments under supervision. • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established procedures. • Review shop drawings during construction administration. • Collaborate with managers and employees to achieve company mission. • Stay current on electrical codes and technologies. • Conduct site visits to collect data and evaluate electrical systems and components. • Prepare design drawings, specifications, calculations, and studies for electrical facilities. • Complete electrical power and lighting designs for projects of all sizes. • Produce plans, specifications, reports, and other project deliverables. • Create one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and select equipment. • Coordinate design schedule with architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, and equipment suppliers. • Exercise judgment in preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. • Generate designs, calculations, sketches, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for senior review. • Provide specialized technical input to studies and designs within area of expertise. • Perform engineering calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. • Maintain accurate project documentation and design data for permanent files. • Work within agreed budget and schedule under supervision. • Utilize software for lighting calculations. • Analyze problems and write reports/memos for internal and external purposes. • Perform site investigations and walk‑downs of project sites. • Mentor and train junior staff members.

What You Bring
We have an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer in our Building and Places business line, based in Dallas or Houston, Texas. The role joins a multidisciplinary, collaborative team that supports markets such as aviation, commercial, federal, healthcare, higher education, rail transit, sports, and science‑tech, and offers opportunities to tackle complex challenges from strategy and design through project realization. The practice focuses on Energy Conservation and Zero‑Carbon initiatives, delivering renewable‑energy projects for high‑performance buildings and supporting decarbonization and electrification efforts. Engineers benefit from growth opportunities in sustainable practices and targeted skills‑enhancement training aligned with AECOM’s Sustainable Legacy. • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering with 6 years of related experience (or equivalent). • Experience with electrical power and lighting design for projects of all sizes using design software. • PE license or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. • Proficiency in Revit for project deliverables. • Strong communication skills; articulate, assertive, confident. • Creative thinker with effective teamwork abilities. • Experience with sustainable design and decarbonization initiatives. • Strong attention to detail and high quality work. • Experience with electrical power calculation software. • Knowledge of National Electrical Code and other regulatory codes (NFPA, ISA, IEEE). • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and spreadsheet tools. • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. • Willingness to travel to client offices and project sites as needed.
