About the Role
The position sits within a national management team, working closely with the Head of Home Moves and other Available Homes Managers to shape strategy, ensure consistency and drive national service improvements while delivering strong regional performance. It is a hands‑on role with accountability for performance, partnership working and customer outcomes, focusing on reducing rent loss, improving turnaround times and embedding high‑quality practice. • Lead, motivate and develop a large, dispersed regional team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement. • Own and improve end‑to‑end lettings performance using data‑driven decision making. • Reduce void turnaround times and rent loss through effective planning and cross‑service collaboration. • Act as regional lead within national Available Homes management, contributing to planning and transformation. • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities and external partners, managing nomination agreements. • Coordinate with Maintenance, Housing Management and Development to ensure homes are ready, compliant and fairly allocated. • Ensure all activities meet regulatory, statutory and organisational requirements, focusing on customer experience and risk management. • Contribute to consistent ways of working, service improvement initiatives and policy development across the national service.

What You Bring
Clarion’s Lettings Service is undergoing a transformation, investing in new ways of working and reshaping the delivery of available homes for customers and communities. We are seeking an experienced operational leader to join as Available Homes Manager for the South region, providing senior leadership for a large, dispersed team delivering safe, compliant, and sustainable lettings. The role requires hybrid work, with the incumbent traveling across the South region and spending time in both office locations. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, reside in England or Wales for the duration of employment, and be able to travel as needed. Clarion does not offer visa sponsorship. • Significant management experience in social/affordable housing, a housing association or local authority. • Proven track record of managing large operational teams across multiple locations or regions. • Strong performance management skills with a history of improving outcomes in complex services. • Ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, including local authorities, commissioners and internal leaders. • Structured, analytical and solutions‑focused approach, balancing delivery with long‑term improvement.

Benefits
The role is based at Clarion’s Haywards Heath (Burns House) or Leatherhead (Carlton House) offices, with a hybrid working arrangement. Salary is £49,178‑£57,849 per annum for a 36‑hour week on a permanent contract. Clarion Housing Group was named Employer of the Year in the Housing Heroes awards 2025.
