About the Role
The successful candidate will join an expanding team delivering a busy responsive‑repairs contract for occupied social‑housing properties. Working hands‑on, you will carry out a wide range of plumbing repairs and maintenance – from fixing leaks and replacing sanitary ware to diagnosing heating and drainage issues – while providing professional, customer‑focused service to residents. • Carry out responsive plumbing repairs in occupied properties. • Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and drainage issues. • Replace taps, toilets, cisterns, basins, and other sanitary ware. • Repair or replace pipework, valves, and fittings. • Investigate and resolve hot‑water system and radiator issues. • Ensure work complies with plumbing regulations and health & safety standards. • Record job details and materials using handheld devices or job sheets. • Remove, repair, or replace bath panels for maintenance or leak detection, refitting them professionally. • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in good condition. • Work respectfully in residents’ homes, keeping a clean and safe environment. • Identify and report additional works, safeguarding concerns, or property issues. • Participate in the out‑of‑hours emergency rota as required. • Provide high levels of customer care at all times.

What You Bring
Applicants must have the right to work in the UK, a full UK driving licence (over 21, held for more than three months and under nine points) and will be subject to background, identity and security checks. For further information, contact Laura Bourne at [email protected]. • Proven experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance. • Experience in carpentry repairs and maintenance. • Full UK driving licence (aged over 21, held >3 months, <9 points). • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills. • Excellent customer service experience in occupied homes. • Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices. • Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work. • Willingness to participate in out‑of‑hours emergency rota.

Mears Group is offering a permanent full‑time plumber position in Dartford, with a salary up to £38,000 per annum, a company van, fuel card and an out‑of‑hours rota. The role is 42.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8‑5.
