About the Role

As a Driver Helper, you will team up with a Route Driver to collect waste and recyclable material from residential and commercial locations, supporting the efficient operation of the collection route. Key duties include adhering to WM safety policies, OSHA regulations, and all applicable laws, promptly reporting unsafe conditions or service issues, and attending required training and meetings. You will manually or mechanically load containers, operate hoisting devices, assist with vehicle backing, and communicate any incidents, service interruptions, or customer requests to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Follow WM safety policies, OSHA regulations, and all applicable laws. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service issues immediately. • Attend mandatory training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Load and empty residential or commercial containers manually or mechanically. • Operate hoisting devices to lift bins into the truck hopper. • Assist the driver with backing maneuvers on route. • Notify Operations or Dispatch of incidents, accidents, property damage, and service interruptions. • Communicate customer requests and route issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Perform scheduled duties and assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs.

The role requires no specific education or prior experience, but candidates must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. Physical demands involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, handling, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and coordinated eye‑hand‑foot movements. Applicants must have a REAL ID or an equivalent TSA‑approved identification if travel by air or access to federal property is required for the role. • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. • No education or prior work experience required. • Ability to perform various physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and repetitive motions with good coordination. • Obtain a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative if required for travel or access to federal property.
