About the Role
You will lead and oversee projects involving soil, groundwater and other media, including phased environmental site assessments, Record of Site Condition processes, and remediation in Ontario. Additional responsibilities include managing spill response, hazardous‑materials surveys, landfill monitoring, and excess‑soil programs while preparing comprehensive technical reports. Business development is a key component, requiring the cultivation of client relationships, identification of new opportunities, and response to Requests for Proposals. Travel to other Dillon locations may be required to support client development and project delivery. • Lead Ontario contaminated‑site projects, including phased ESAs, Record of Site Condition and remediation. • Direct technical work on excess‑soil management (assessments, sampling plans, characterization reports). • Manage spill response, hazardous‑materials surveys, landfill monitoring and remediation initiatives. • Prepare and coordinate Phase I‑III ESA reports, conceptual site models, remedial options and action plans. • Mentor junior and intermediate staff, providing technical direction, training recommendations and coaching. • Drive business development by nurturing client relationships, identifying new opportunities and responding to RFPs. • Contribute to Dillon’s strategic growth and operational business plans. • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation and policies. • Produce high‑quality proposals, reports, presentations and client communications.

The role is for a licensed Professional Engineer or Geoscientist within Dillon’s Contaminant Assessment & Management Discipline, based in the London office. Qualifications include a valid Ontario licence (or eligibility), a bachelor’s degree or higher in an environmental or earth‑science discipline, a valid driver’s licence, and at least ten years of consulting experience. Strong conceptual, communication, and leadership skills, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation and software tools, are essential. • Utilize software such as AutoCAD, GIS, Surfer, GINT (preferred). • Licensed Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in Ontario (or eligible for registration). • Bachelor’s degree or higher in environmental, civil, geological engineering, geology, hydrogeology or related field. • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in environmental consulting. • Strong conceptual understanding of geological and hydrogeological systems. • Proven leadership of multidisciplinary teams and successful business development track record. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel as required. • Experience with heavy equipment and ground‑disturbance training (asset). • Proficiency in proposal and report writing, presentations and stakeholder engagement.
