About the Role

The role is responsible for the profitable operation and strategic development of our landfill business across the Southern Region. With a strong compliance foundation already in place, you will focus on optimisation, long‑term development and risk‑managed growth while sitting on the Southern Region senior leadership team with influence over strategy, capital planning and future expansion. You will lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of landfill assets, drive strategic development in partnership with the Regional General Manager, and ensure full compliance with EPA, legislative, licence and permit requirements. Managing consultants, contractors and tender processes, you will oversee landfill cell development, airspace planning and long‑term site sustainability, and identify and manage environmental and operational risks such as leachate, odour and cover management. Financial responsibilities include preparing and managing operating budgets, capital expenditure submissions and post‑audit reviews, as well as setting pricing strategies to maximise market opportunities and customer outcomes.
