Conversational AI & Automation Engineer (Azure)

About the Role

The Azure Automation & DevOps Engineer will build, maintain, and improve automation across the cloud environment. The role combines hands‑on scripting, Azure DevOps practices, and conversational AI automation, working in a hybrid setup with cloud engineers, developers, and operations teams to streamline processes and reduce manual work. Key responsibilities include building automation using PowerShell, Azure Automation Runbooks, Logic Apps, and Functions; supporting CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps; developing infrastructure‑as‑code with ARM; creating automation workflows for provisioning, monitoring, patching, and routine tasks; and working with conversational AI tools to automate user interactions and service requests. The engineer will integrate bots and automation with backend systems via APIs and webhooks, troubleshoot automation and pipeline failures, collaborate with cloud, security, and application teams to ensure best practices, maintain documentation, and support governance, standards, and reusable automation frameworks across the organization. • Build and maintain automation using PowerShell, Azure Automation Runbooks, Logic Apps, and Functions. • Support and improve CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for builds, releases, and deployments. • Develop infrastructure‑as‑code with ARM templates following team standards. • Create automation workflows for provisioning, monitoring, patching, and routine tasks. • Design and integrate conversational AI bots (Azure Bot Service, Power Virtual Agents, Copilot Studio) with backend systems via APIs and webhooks. • Troubleshoot automation failures, pipeline issues, and script errors, implementing long‑term fixes. • Collaborate with cloud, security, and application teams to enforce best‑practice automation. • Document scripts, workflows, pipelines, and automation processes. • Ensure governance, standards, and reusable automation frameworks are followed organization‑wide. • Utilize Azure Monitor alerts, action groups, and automated remediation. • Manage Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML or Classic) with Git version control and code reviews. • Apply IaC tools such as ARM, Bicep, or Terraform. • Implement simple conversational flows and automate service requests.

What You Bring

Required technical expertise includes advanced PowerShell scripting, Azure Automation Runbooks (PowerShell & Python), Logic Apps, Functions, Event Grid, Azure Monitor, Azure DevOps Pipelines (YAML or Classic), Git version control, IaC tools such as ARM, Bicep, Terraform, and experience with Azure Bot Service, Power Virtual Agents, or Copilot Studio for conversational AI. Knowledge of API integrations, REST endpoints, simple conversational flow design, and general cloud operations such as resource management, networking, identity, security, monitoring, and incident response is also needed. Candidates should have 3–6+ years of experience in Azure automation, DevOps, or cloud engineering, strong PowerShell and Python scripting, hands‑on Azure DevOps pipeline experience, and good communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration. Nice‑to‑have skills include Microsoft Graph API, ServiceNow integrations, reusable automation frameworks, and Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑204, AZ‑400, AI‑102). • Demonstrate advanced PowerShell and Python scripting skills. • Understand Azure resource management, networking, identity, security, monitoring, logging, and incident response. • Possess 3‑6+ years of experience in Azure automation, DevOps, or cloud engineering. • Exhibit strong communication and teamwork abilities in hybrid or Agile environments. • Nice‑to‑have: experience with Microsoft Graph API, ServiceNow integration, reusable automation frameworks, and Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑204, AZ‑400, AI‑102).
