About the Role
Senior Project Engineers at ECS are accountable for completing all project tasks from proposal through final invoice, either personally or via subordinates. They provide consultation, attend meetings, mentor junior staff, and uphold a positive customer service attitude aligned with ECS Core Values. The role serves as the service line champion for deep‑foundation testing, including PDA, CSL, TIP, PIT, and tests on small steel and helical piles, as well as soil nails and anchors. Responsibilities include overseeing geotechnical report preparation, managing boring layouts, utility clearances, drill‑rig supervision, in‑situ testing, soil classification, laboratory test selection, and the production of engineering reports. Business development expectations involve weekly client interactions, marketing ECS services, attending networking events, and participating in industry boards or committees. The engineer must maintain billability, conduct senior reviews of field reports, manage invoicing and collections, host regular staff meetings, coordinate with principals, and champion safety through audits, training, and incident reporting. • Lead deep‑foundation testing services (PDA, CSL, TIP, PIT, lateral/compression/pull‑out tests on piles, soil nails, anchors). • Oversee preparation and review of geotechnical reports and CMT proposals by junior staff. • Manage project logistics: boring layouts, utility clearances, drill‑rig supervision, in‑situ testing, soil classification, lab test selection, report generation. • Mentor, train, and develop junior engineers and field staff; assign training and conduct performance evaluations. • Conduct client meetings, provide technical solutions, and serve as primary contact for project deliverables. • Drive business development: weekly client interactions, networking events, board or committee participation. • Ensure project profitability: oversee invoicing, collections, contract compliance, and billable hour targets. • Host weekly staff and project meetings; coordinate with principals on operations and goals. • Promote safety: participate in audits, investigations, training, and promptly report hazards. • Review proposals and contracts for technical accuracy and compliance. • Perform people‑management duties: set goals, monitor progress, approve timecards, conduct evaluations. • Maintain required licensure (PE or PG) and obtain local licenses within three months if needed. • Utilize geotechnical software and perform calculations to support recommendations. • Build and lead teams, fostering mentorship and professional development.

What You Bring
Compensation requirements include at least five years of relevant experience, a BS/MS in civil, geological, or related engineering, and a valid Professional Engineer or Professional Geologist license (or ability to obtain one within three months).
