About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments depending on the line of business. They transport waste, recyclable materials, or roll‑off containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, often handling loads exceeding 1,000 pounds and performing skilled backing maneuvers in high‑traffic, residential, or industrial environments. All drivers must operate vehicles in compliance with WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT regulations, and all applicable laws. They conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, complete DVIR reports, report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions, and communicate customer requests to management. Drivers also ensure receptacles are fully emptied, sites are left clean, follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist fellow drivers as directed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste, recyclables, or roll‑off containers. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Follow WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT regulations, and all applicable laws while driving. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests and special service needs to management. • Dump receptacles cleanly and leave customer sites free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist other drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, crouching, and handling heavy containers.

What You Bring
Applicants need at least one year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent recent military driving experience, must be 18 years or older, and legally eligible to work in the country. A valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
