About the Role
The role, reporting to the Rail Systems Practice Lead in Canada, will develop, support and lead the execution of rail systems design projects for NASA‑backed initiatives across Canada and the US. It includes full project lifecycle responsibilities—from initiation and planning to delivery, integration, and business development for the rail systems team. • Lead rail systems project pursuits, develop proposals and team structures. • Initiate and plan projects, estimate hours, create schedules and execution plans. • Oversee detailed rail systems design and budget management. • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary resources across offices to deliver systems engineering scope. • Manage sub‑consultants, subcontractors and suppliers. • Direct QA processes in line with Mott MacDonald QMS and project requirements. • Conduct project close‑out and client satisfaction surveys. • Provide strategic direction for systems engineering and assurance across Canada and the US. • Develop and apply SE, SI, RM, CM and SA processes on North American projects. • Review and improve system engineering and integration practices. • Build and maintain client and partner relationships; represent the firm at industry events. • Bring 20+ years of large‑scale infrastructure project delivery, preferably rail/transit. • Travel occasionally across Canada and the US to project sites and MM locations.

What You Bring
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. • Possess a P.Eng designation in Ontario, BC or Alberta (or eligibility). • Demonstrated management of traction power, OCS, power rail, communications, signalling, train control, tunnel ventilation, SCADA, PA/visual, security, and rolling stock systems. • Experience integrating complex railway systems and handling verification, validation, testing, commissioning and operational readiness. • Strong English communication and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and client discussions. • Knowledge of IEC/IEEE 15288 lifecycle engineering and EN 50126 system safety standards. • INCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification is a plus.

Benefits
The position offers a salary between $200,000 and $240,000, performance bonuses, and a hybrid work model that requires a minimum of three days per week on‑site.
