About the Role

As a Spare Board Driver you will fill in for absent drivers to cover routes, handle overflow, or substitute during vacations. The role requires flexibility and offers a variety of work experiences. The job involves safely operating a heavy‑duty truck on assigned transfer routes. Drivers must adhere to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and all local, state, and federal regulations. Key duties include performing pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR), reporting unsafe situations, and cooperating with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency. Drivers also communicate customer requests, dump containers, clean sites, position containers properly, submit tickets for excess yardage, and complete all required documentation at the end of each route. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks safely on transfer routes in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using DVIR and report any issues promptly. • Communicate safety concerns, incidents, and customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Dump containers, clean sites, position containers correctly, and submit customer tickets as needed. • Follow assigned routes, document activities, and assist other drivers when directed. • Provide legal eligibility to work in Canada with a valid SIN and pass drug, physical, and background checks. • Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and safety meetings. • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle at all times.

Qualifications require no formal education or prior experience, but applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada with a valid SIN, hold a current DZ or Class 3 (CDL) license, be at least 18 years old, and have an acceptable driving record. A pre‑employment drug screen, physical, background check, and motor vehicle record review are mandatory. The role may require a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative for air travel or access to federal property.
