About the Role
The Staff Product Designer will define the future of mobile‑first capture experiences for iOS and Android, creating seamless interactions with Matterport cameras and extending designs into desktop workflows. The position focuses on delivering intuitive, powerful experiences for both everyday consumers and expert power users such as architects, facilities managers, and real‑estate professionals, while ensuring consistency across platforms. Key responsibilities include leading mobile design, shaping product strategy, solving complex interaction and hardware‑software integration challenges, and collaborating with product, engineering, research, and hardware teams. The designer will also mentor junior designers, influence stakeholders with storytelling and data‑driven rationale, and contribute to select desktop experiences to maintain cross‑device parity. • Lead design for iOS and Android apps, ensuring seamless integration with Matterport capture devices. • Develop consumer‑friendly yet power‑user capable mobile experiences and extend design to select desktop workflows. • Define mobile product strategy, create design standards, and solve complex interaction and hardware‑software integration challenges. • Partner with product, engineering, research, and hardware teams to deliver end‑to‑end capture workflows. • Mentor designers and influence stakeholders through storytelling, prototypes, and data‑driven rationale.

What You Bring
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or a related field (advanced degrees a plus) and at least eight years of professional design experience, including four years focused on iOS and Android. Required skills include advanced mobile UX/UI expertise, systems thinking, strong communication, and a proven record of delivering polished, scalable mobile products. Experience with hardware‑software workflows and the ability to work with power‑user requirements are preferred. • 8+ years of professional design experience, with 4+ years focused on iOS/Android mobile app design. • Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or related field (advanced degree a plus); proven track record of polished, scalable mobile designs. • Experience with hardware‑software workflows (cameras, IoT) and systems thinking across multi‑platform products.
