About the Role

• Perform calculations and develop design plans for green infrastructure and stormwater management practices. • Develop site grading, roadway layout, parking lot payout, lighting design, and utility design for commercial, industrial, residential developments, and electrical substations. • Assist with transportation aspects such as access, internal circulation, AutoTURN analysis, and parking lot maneuverability. • Conduct tributary drainage area analysis and size stormwater management systems. • Prepare permit packages for city and state agencies. • Prepare and review technical reports, including drainage reports, due diligence reports, technical memos, and SWPPPs. • Prepare cost estimates for conceptual and final design phases. • Perform field work for data gathering, surveys, and construction observations.

What You Bring

The New York City office is hiring a full‑time Site Civil Engineer with 1‑3 years of experience to support its growing site civil engineering practice. The role is based in Lower Manhattan but may involve work nationwide on residential/mixed‑use, commercial/industrial, electrical substation, and stormwater management projects. NV5’s NYC office operates on a four‑day work week. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, or water resources engineering. • Possess 0‑3 years of related experience. • Demonstrate strong understanding of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Experience with modeling software such as AutoTURN and DiaLux Evo. • Detail‑oriented with excellent writing skills. • Knowledge of NYC DEP Stormwater Rules and Permits is desired. • EIT certification required; PE license preferred.

The position offers a base salary of $75,000‑$78,000 per year, which may vary based on the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and experience.
