About the Role
The Building Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all operating systems on the assigned site, and may serve as the sole engineer for a smaller property. Reliable transportation and availability for after‑hour emergency calls are required. Core duties include preventative maintenance and repairs of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life‑safety, fire‑protection, and security systems. The engineer performs routine lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, consumable replacements and periodic testing on equipment such as air‑handling units, recirculating air systems, water‑pumping systems, cooling plants and plumbing components. The role also involves responding promptly to tenant requests via personal contact or work‑order systems, maintaining accurate maintenance logs and records, and coordinating approvals and scheduling with contractors, tenants and management. All work must follow written operating procedures and prioritize tenant safety and continuous site operation. • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. • Respond to tenant service requests for safety, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and environmental issues. • Conduct routine inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and part replacements such as filters and indicator lights. • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work order records, and building files using software systems. • Coordinate approvals and schedule work with contractors, tenants, and management. • Ensure compliance with site operating procedures and safety standards. • Provide after‑hour emergency coverage with reliable transportation.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a High School Diploma or GED, have at least five years of building‑operations engineering experience, be CFC certified in the high‑pressure discipline, possess any required licenses, and demonstrate strong computer and email proficiency.
