About the Role
The accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information through various responsibilities. The primary focus will be on assisting with month‑end close procedures, preparing journal entries, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, collaborating with subsidiaries for intercompany accounting transactions, and contributing to the monthly reporting process. The accountant will also assist in special projects, ad‑hoc analysis and other initiatives as required by the finance team. • Assist with month‑end close procedures and prepare journal entries. • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and manage intercompany accounting transactions. • Contribute to monthly financial reporting and support special projects or ad‑hoc analysis. • Uphold Nucor’s safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

What You Bring
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum qualifications include 2+ years of general ledger accounting experience in US GAAP, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related work experience, intermediate Excel skills, and legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft D365 or a similar ERP system and manufacturing accounting experience. • Minimum qualifications: 2+ years general ledger accounting experience (US GAAP), Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration, intermediate Excel skills, and U.S. work authorization without sponsorship. • Preferred qualifications: experience with Microsoft D365 or similar ERP systems and manufacturing accounting background.
