About the Role

You will design electrical building systems that enhance safety, performance, and sustainability for commercial, institutional and mixed‑use projects. Your designs will cover power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life‑safety systems from concept through construction, applying energy‑efficient principles to meet client sustainability goals. Collaboration with mechanical, structural, sustainability, and architectural teams will produce integrated solutions, and you will prepare accurate drawings, reports, and specifications while supporting on‑site reviews and construction. • Design electrical building systems that prioritize safety, performance, and sustainability. • Deliver power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and life‑safety designs from concept to construction. • Apply energy‑efficient design principles to meet client sustainability objectives. • Collaborate with mechanical, structural, sustainability, and architectural teams to create integrated solutions. • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications. • Conduct on‑site reviews, inspections, and provide construction support to ensure design intent. • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software to produce accurate deliverables. • Perform site reviews, coordinate with contractors, and understand field integration of systems. • Contribute to safer, more energy‑efficient buildings that benefit communities and the environment.

What You Bring

Hands‑on experience or co‑op exposure to lighting, power, and life‑safety design is essential, along with familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software. You should be comfortable conducting site reviews, coordinating with contractors, and understanding how systems function in the field. Eligibility for EIT registration in British Columbia or comparable design experience is required, and a strong commitment to safer, energy‑efficient buildings is expected. • Hold or be eligible for EIT registration in British Columbia (or demonstrate equivalent design experience).
