About the Role

The Project Manager – Utility Engineering will apply civil engineering expertise to manage utility infrastructure projects for clients such as Con Edison and Verizon in the NYC area, handling substation design, EV charging installations, and subsurface interference evaluations. The role involves managing scope, schedule, and budget while leading multidisciplinary teams. • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for utility infrastructure projects. • Lead a multi‑disciplinary team on substation design. • Build and maintain strong client relationships as the primary point of contact. • Attend in‑person, field, and online meetings to provide administrative support and engineering guidance. • Lead record research, including utility plates and NYCTA Subway records. • Review and assist development of private utility alignments to avoid interferences. • Oversee technical drawing development, quantity estimates, and specification writing. • Coordinate field work for data gathering, test pit inspections, surveys, and construction observations. • Oversee preparation of support drawings, conduit plans, and utility overlay on NYC construction plans. • Work effectively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders. • Ensure quality control of tasks. • Assist with proposals and business development.

What You Bring

• Hold a Baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college. • Possess at least 4 years of infrastructure engineering design experience in NYC. • Experience with private utility companies or NYC agencies. • Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil3D and MicroStation a plus. • Detail‑oriented with excellent writing skills. • EIT required. • PE preferred or obtainable within 1 year.

Benefits

Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $135,000, with base pay adjusted for knowledge, skills, and experience, and may include restricted stock units.
