About the Role

The Project Manager III provides end‑to‑end project management, leadership, and coordination for multiple large, complex projects or transformational work streams. Responsibilities include project initiation, approval, scope, schedule, cost, resource planning, risk management, and alignment of financial, compliance, safety, customer, and operational goals across the business unit or corporation. In this role you will support the Generation Development team by planning and developing new dispatchable generation projects and large‑scale improvement projects at existing plants. Development work focuses on project origination, conceptual design, technology selection, cost estimates, schedules, preliminary technical designs, major supply contracts, and EPC contracts, leveraging corporate functions such as regulatory, project controls, environmental, technical, and supply chain. • Identify project options, develop business cases, and secure approvals. • Lead requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and solution design. • Define deliverables, success metrics, milestones, work plans, and budgets. • Create cost‑benefit analyses and develop comprehensive project plans. • Manage detailed project schedules and provide cross‑functional status reporting. • Drive innovation and continuous improvement throughout project execution. • Control project finances: budgeting, forecasting, actuals tracking, and variance analysis. • Facilitate RFP processes, contract negotiations, and monitor contract performance. • Forecast, schedule, and allocate internal and external resources across matrixed teams. • Develop resource plans to maximize skill utilization and minimize cost. • Mentor and coach less‑experienced project team members. • Manage scope changes and implement risk mitigation and contingency plans. • Communicate project status to all organization levels and build senior‑leader relationships.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing new‑build thermal or brownfield power and process plant projects, a strong grasp of project management principles, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Although the position does not have direct reports, it involves mentoring earlier‑career project managers biopsically across disciplines. • Possess a minimum of 10 years experience in operations, technology, finance, or related fields, preferably utilities. • Hold a BS in Engineering, Construction, Business, IT, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Have 10+ years of project management and process improvement experience; PMP/PE certification preferred. • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, influence diverse teams and adapt quickly to change. • Preferred experience with simple‑cycle, combined‑cycle, geothermal, steam‑electric, or large renewable plant development. • Experience with interconnection queues, natural‑gas pipeline contracts, air permitting, and cost‑schedule estimating.
