The role involves delivering project objectives in line with the Project Plan, leading and supervising project teams and stakeholders to achieve key performance indicators. Responsibilities include coordinating technical services, managing external resources, monitoring timeframes and budgets, and ensuring robust quality systems and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Additional duties cover procurement of consultants and contractors, managing project changes and handover documentation, driving business priorities such as Construction to Production, Digital & Data, and Responsible Business practices, and contributing to the net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing associated emissions. • Promote safety and apply Mace's HSW framework while complying with local health and safety regulations. • Deliver and manage project plans from inception through design, procurement and construction phases, meeting agreed milestones. • Coordinate tasks and deliverables, supporting senior project managers and collaborating with client, design and contractor teams. • Arrange technical services and external resources, and lead procurement of consultants and contractors. • Monitor project timeframes, budgets, risks and implement mitigation strategies. • Maintain robust quality systems and documentation in line with Mace Way and Service Excellence standards. • Organise and record meetings, conduct site walks and provide analysis to stakeholders. • Manage project changes, track handover documentation and ensure timely delivery of approved outputs. • Drive business priorities such as Construction to Production, Digital & Data, and Responsible Business practices. • Lead design and consultant teams, manage stakeholder relationships and achieve project KPIs. • Support net‑zero carbon transition by identifying and managing project‑related emissions.

What You Bring

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, possess technical expertise in construction methodologies and HSE regulations, and hold relevant professional qualifications or certifications. They will also mentor and develop team members, maintain a safe work environment, and uphold Mace’s values and behaviours in all interactions. Required experience includes proven project management of small‑to‑medium sized projects, budgetary oversight, and a solid understanding of consultancy, construction, infrastructure and property sectors. Candidates should have a relevant technical qualification or certification (e.g., MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE), a CSCS card or equivalent, and advanced proficiency in using project planning tools. Desirable attributes include membership of professional bodies such as RICS, CIOB, APM or ICE, a degree in engineering, construction or related discipline, a driving licence and vehicle, and experience with water, utilities or civil infrastructure projects, particularly wastewater and potable water systems. Knowledge of carbon and sustainability considerations is also valued. • Demonstrate Mace values and professional behaviours in all activities. • Proven project management experience on small‑to‑medium projects with strong communication and negotiation skills. • Budgetary oversight expertise and commercial/acumen for managing internal budgets and fees. • Technical knowledge of construction methodologies, HSE regulations and sector‑specific rules. • Relevant professional qualification or certification (e.g., MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE) and CSCS card or equivalent. • Tertiary degree or equivalent experience in engineering, construction or project management. • Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or similar professional bodies. • Driving licence and vehicle (desirable). • Experience with water, utilities or civil infrastructure projects, especially wastewater and potable water systems. • Understanding of carbon and sustainability considerations shaping project outcomes.
