About the Role

The engineer will execute complex electronics and embedded hardware and firmware design and testing tasks. They will create detailed, trackable work plans aligned with the broader development team, including requirement definition and issue tracking, and will conduct formal design and quality reviews of both their own and others' work. Testing will be performed to meet quality and reliability objectives while developing deep technical expertise to become a subject‑matter expert. The role provides domain expertise to product support teams for field issue resolution and contributes to technical research and investigations. Collaboration spans Corporate Research & Technology, the Electrical Sector Center of Excellence, external technology partners, and product innovation groups, with an emphasis on generating value‑added intellectual property. The engineer will also support the transition of designs into production by creating and executing detailed test plans. • Design and test complex electronic hardware and embedded firmware. • Develop detailed, trackable work plans and manage requirements and issues. • Conduct formal design and quality reviews for own and peer work. • Perform testing to achieve quality and reliability targets. • Provide domain expertise to resolve field issues for product support. • Lead technical research and investigations. • Collaborate with corporate research, sector centers, and external partners to create IP. • Transition designs to production by writing and executing detailed test plans. • Use Altium for schematic capture and circuit design. • Design AC and DC power systems. • Develop embedded firmware for 8‑ to 32‑bit microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, PIC). • Operate digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other metrology equipment.

What You Bring

A bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering from an accredited institution is required. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in power electronics, analog and digital circuit development, and be proficient with circuit design tools such as Altium. Experience with bus communications (USB, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet), AC/DC power systems, and embedded firmware on 8‑ to 32‑bit microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC) is essential. Additional skills include C/C++ programming, MATLAB or similar simulation tools, and the use of digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other metrology equipment. • Hold a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. • Possess 5+ years experience in power electronics and analog/digital circuit design. • Work with bus communications: USB, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet. • Program in C and C++ and utilize MATLAB or similar simulation tools.
