About the Role
Mortenson’s Power Delivery/Battery Storage Operating Group is looking for a Project Operations Accountant to provide accounting, analysis, and financial support for construction projects. The role serves as the primary liaison between Finance and Accounting and the project team, handling contract reviews, budgeting, and cash‑flow management. • Review construction contract requirements, summarize contracts, and allocate project budgets. • Process receivables, prepare cost‑plus billings, respond to inquiries, and ensure timely cash receipt posting. • Manage payables, set up new vendors and subcontracts, coordinate payments, and verify project cost postings. • Conduct project cost analyses, prepare specialized reports, and assist with monthly financial projections. • Oversee labor cost components, maintain team member files, capture weekly hours, and verify certified payroll accuracy. • Answer PCIM policy questions, represent Mortenson in audits, and support annual inventory and special audit procedures.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. • Minimum of three years of accounting experience, preferably in construction accounting. • Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems such as Textura and Oracle. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to support many team members and maintain organized records. • Knowledge of construction contracts, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, and labor wage requirements is a plus.

The position offers a competitive base salary ranging from $71,000 to $107,000, with higher rates for locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
