About the Role
The Master Production Planner at AAON plays a critical role in aligning production schedules with customer demand, inventory levels, and operational capacity. This position ensures efficient material flow and optimal resource utilization across manufacturing operations while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to maintain high service levels and minimize costs and delays. The planner is responsible for developing and maintaining the master production schedule to meet customer requirements and internal goals. Responsibilities include analyzing demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints to create executable plans, and working closely with procurement, engineering, operations, and sales to ensure departmental alignment. Performance metrics are monitored and schedules are adjusted as needed to respond to changes in demand or supply disruptions. What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field and at least seven years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or project management are required. Preferred qualifications include APICS CPIM or CSCP certification and a master’s degree in operations or a related discipline. Key knowledge, skills, and abilities include a strong understanding of manufacturing planning, scheduling, and inventory control, proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle, and advanced Excel skills. The candidate must be able to analyze complex data sets, demonstrate excellent organizational and time‑management abilities, and possess strong communication and collaboration skills across departments. The role demands sustained attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Physical requirements include sitting or standing for extended periods at a computer, occasional walking through manufacturing areas, and visual acuity for reviewing schedules and reports. The Master Production Planner works primarily in an office setting within a manufacturing facility, with occasional visits to production areas that may involve exposure to noise, temperature variations, and moving machinery.
