About the Role
• Inspect underground sewer and water utilities to locate defects, leaks, and blockages. • Diagnose issues and recommend repair or replacement solutions. • Plan and execute line replacement projects, including excavation, pipe removal, and installation. • Safely operate mini excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and trenching equipment. • Maintain proper trench depth, shielding, and shoring per safety standards. • Install, repair, or replace underground pipes, fittings, and related components. • Assist in preparation for CIPP liner installations when required. • Measure, weigh, and ready materials for installation. • Reconnect small plumbing fixtures as needed. • Prepare job truck and trailer with tools and materials before each project. • Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized. • Communicate professionally with homeowners about scope, schedule, and backfill expectations. • Record inspections, repairs, and completed work accurately. • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. • Care for tools, equipment, and company vehicles; report issues promptly. • Follow Fix-It 24/7 safety policies and OSHA regulations. • Stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, reach and handle tools throughout the day. • Climb ladders and work in crawl spaces. • Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions. • Operate in hot, cold, wet, and confined environments. • Communicate constantly with customers, vendors, and team members.

What You Bring
Fix-It 24/7 is seeking an experienced Excavation Operator to join its Colorado team. The position supports residential and light-commercial underground sewer and water line projects, handling excavation, trenching, pipe replacement, and backfill. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and experienced operating excavation equipment in residential settings. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. • 3–5+ years experience in excavation, underground plumbing, or pipe replacement. • Proficient with mini excavators, skid steers, trench shields, and shoring systems. • Residential and light-commercial sewer and water line experience. • OSHA 10 certification and Trenching & Shoring training (or ability to obtain). • Experience with CIPP lining, CCTV inspection, and hydro-jetting is a plus. • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. • Ability to lift and move 50 lb+ materials. • Valid driver’s license with clean record (CDL a plus). • Willingness to learn specialized underground and liner installation skills. • Sewer drain cleaning experience preferred. • Frequently lift 50 lb or more. • Adapt to interruptions and changing priorities.

Benefits
Excavation Operator – Pay range $75,000 to $145,000 annually, full-time year-round. The role includes a full benefits package, company vehicle, tools, and growth opportunities.
