About the Role
The role leads, coaches, and mentors the Toolroom team to deliver efficient service, focusing on new tooling processes for product development and end‑of‑life tool replacements. It involves developing knowledge and cross‑functional skills across mould tools, press tools, machining, EDM, and bench fitting, and collaborating with supervisors to plan daily work schedules. A tooling TPM program will be created to reduce waiting time for the mould and press shop, while supporting engineering in new product development by identifying potential manufacturing issues. The role also drives the Press Shop strategy to transition from riveted to welded contacts, uses CAD/Inventor for tooling modifications, and leads internal replacement tooling programs following CAPEX procedures. • Lead and mentor the Toolroom team to ensure efficient service delivery • Develop and implement new tooling processes for product development and end‑of‑life replacements • Coach team members in mould, press, machining, EDM, and bench‑fitting skills • Collaborate with supervisors to schedule and prioritize daily work • Create a tooling TPM program to minimize waiting time in mould and press shops • Support engineering by reviewing designs for potential manufacturing issues • Drive the shift from riveted to welded contacts in the Press Shop, including required tooling and machinery • Use CAD/Inventor to design tooling modifications and major repairs • Manage internal replacement tooling projects in compliance with CAPEX procedures • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards throughout toolroom operations

What You Bring
Candidates need an HND in Toolmaking/Engineering or equivalent and at least five years of supervisory experience in manufacturing. They must possess specialised knowledge of mould and press tools, design of jigs and fixtures, CAD, CNC milling, spark and wire erosion, and a strong understanding of manufacturing technologies. Additional requirements include analytical thinking, an ethical mindset, strong organisational and multitasking abilities, excellent communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to plan and execute work initiatives.
