Job Highlights
About the Role
• Plan and perform varied field surveys within project scope and budget, using efficient methods and adhering to standards. • Supervise and direct other survey crew members. • Interact with project site supervisors and client field representatives. • Prepare accurate, detailed field notes and daily activity reports promptly. • Perform in‑field calculations for construction stakeout and land surveys with moderate office support. • Prepare cut sheets for construction assignments as needed. • Review and validate collected data. • Analyze issues and develop solutions proactively. • Operate and maintain survey vehicle per company manual. • Transport, maintain, and operate surveying instruments and equipment on job sites. • Follow corporate and client health and safety programs and SOPs. • Complete health and safety checklists and instruct crew on hazards and PPE. • Use and train others on Total Stations, Data Collectors, GNSS, and specialized survey equipment. • Perform GPS calibration and run a level loop with a digital level. • Troubleshoot common GPS/radio issues. • Electronically transfer field data, photos, and forms to the office daily. • Mentor field survey staff for career advancement.

What You Bring

We're looking for a Senior Survey Crew Chief who thrives outdoors, leads with precision, and brings projects to life from the ground up. If you're passionate about technology, teamwork, and top-tier fieldwork — we want you on our crew. • High School/GED required; Associate’s degree preferred. • 7+ years related experience, including 2+ years as crew chief or a graduate survey degree. • Valid driver’s license; CST Level II preferred; ability to obtain Drone License 107. • Advanced knowledge of surveying practices, equipment, and GPS/GNSS operation. • Proficiency in math, geometry, and trigonometry for calculations. • Strong organizational, prioritization, and teamwork skills. • Familiarity with Trimble Connect, Bluebeam, MS Word, Excel, Trimble Access (3D linework, models, General Survey, Roads), TSC5/TSC7. • Clean driving record; MVR will be checked. • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job communications. • Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and participate in random drug/alcohol testing.
