About the Role

The Account Manager is responsible for proactively maintaining and retaining relationships with existing customers for permanent commercial and industrial waste services in an assigned territory. Additionally, the role requires increasing penetration in the existing customer base by selling the full suite of Republic Services products. Key responsibilities include building long‑term customer relationships and loyalty, developing thorough knowledge of the company's services, pricing structures, and additional offerings, and performing contractual re‑signs to extend relationships and boost profitability. The Account Manager handles cancellation requests according to the escalation policy, supports pricing initiatives, utilizes Salesforce daily to document calls, meetings, and proposals, captures customer emails, and works to minimize rate restrictions and credits. They also increase customer penetration by cross‑selling products, meet regularly with the Sales Manager to review retention goals and relationship status, collaborate with operations to resolve service issues, and represent the company at trade shows, chamber events, and other community activities.
