About the Role

• Lead engineering teams of entry‑ to mid‑level engineers and technicians in roadway and bridge design for WVDOH and local agency projects. • Perform business development and marketing activities to generate future work. • Scope projects and develop budgets for complex, high‑profile roadway designs. • Communicate with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and the public. • Manage innovative transportation projects, overseeing financials, schedules, and design tasks. • Handle project financials, invoicing, and cash collections. • Assist in developing marketing strategies for targeted West Virginia projects and clients.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will complete the AECOM Project Management Certification Program within six months of hire, aligning their skills with the firm’s standards for project delivery and client service. The position emphasizes a client‑focused, decisive approach and the ability to leverage AECOM’s resources across the West Virginia market. Relocation assistance and sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization are not available for this role. Candidates must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and meet AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records requirements to travel to work and client sites. • Complete AECOM Project Management Certification Program within six months of hire. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with 10 + years of transportation project experience or equivalent. • Minimum two years of demonstrated leadership experience. • West Virginia PE license or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months. • Experience scoping and estimating complex roadway/bridge projects. • Proven ability to track and manage project budgets and schedules. • Experience mentoring and developing junior staff. • Valid U.S. driver’s license and pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review. • WV Department of Highways (DOH) experience. • Proficiency with MicroStation and InRoads, especially in traffic, transportation, water resources, or structures. • Leadership skills to develop engineers and project managers. • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment. • Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational abilities. • Degree from an ABET‑accredited program. • Master’s degree (preferred). • Proficient with spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software.
