About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Roles include commercial drivers who pick up and haul containers to disposal or recycling sites, residential drivers who collect household waste, and roll‑off drivers who load and move large open‑top containers. All drivers must navigate high‑traffic roads, alleys, driveways, and perform skilled backing maneuvers. Key duties include operating vehicles in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws; conducting pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and completing DVIR reports; reporting safety hazards, incidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch; and participating in required training and briefings. What You Bring
Applicants must hold a valid Class A or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, be at least 18 years old, and have at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or recent military driving experience. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. is required, and a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical capabilities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling heavy containers.
