About the Role
The Environmental Technician is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of landfill gas extraction systems, leachate collection systems, and other related systems at Republic Services’ landfills. This role ensures ongoing monitoring of these systems and that all work adheres to safety regulations as well as federal and state requirements. Key duties include conducting environmental sampling (ground water, surface water, air quality, and gas migration), measuring and recording landfill gas levels, troubleshooting and correcting gas extraction and leachate systems, performing landfill surveying as needed, and preparing and submitting required reporting data. All responsibilities are performed in a safe and efficient manner to maintain compliance with applicable regulations.

What You Bring
The position requires good time‑management, communication, and follow‑through skills, along with the ability to adhere to company policies and promote safety standards. A minimum of one year of experience working at an OSHA‑regulated site is required.
