About the Role
The HVAC Service Technician I at AAON is an entry‑level position that assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. The role supports senior technicians while learning to diagnose and resolve basic mechanical and electrical issues, providing hands‑on experience with AAON equipment and service procedures. It is ideal for individuals beginning their HVAC career in a manufacturing or field‑service environment. Technician I performs routine service tasks under supervision and supports more experienced technicians in troubleshooting and repairs. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to, assisting with installation and startup of HVAC units, performing basic maintenance such as filter changes and coil cleaning, supporting troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components, documenting service activities, following safety protocols, and learning to use diagnostic tools and service software. • Assist with installation and startup of HVAC units. • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as filter changes and cleaning coils. • Support troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components. • Document service activities and report findings to supervisors. • Follow safety protocols and company procedures.

Job requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for completion of an HVAC technical training program. Candidates should have a basic understanding of HVAC systems and components, be able to use hand tools and follow instructions, demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and possess good communication and teamwork skills. The role demands physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 75 lb, frequent standing, bending, ladder climbing, and visual acuity for inspecting equipment, along with mental focus for learning and following procedures.
